Executive Committee Member (Corporate Liaison Officer) – Trustee Role

We are seeking a committed individual to join the BSPED Executive Committee as Corporate Liaison Officer. This role includes acting as a Trustee and Director of the Society, contributing to governance and ensuring BSPED operates in line with best practice and legal requirements. The postholder will:

  • Represent BSPED in engagement with industry partners and support future funding initiatives 
  • Contribute to Executive Committee business and strategic discussions
  • Act as an ambassador for BSPED across partner organisations and stakeholders
  • Act as Executive representative on the BSPED Research Group 

The role is for a three-year term, with the possibility of a one-year extension. 

Trustee Job Description

Secretary‑Elect

BSPED is inviting applications for the role of Secretary‑Elect, who will support the current Secretary, Senthil Senniappan, and prepare to take on this essential leadership position after 1 year of shadowing. This position also forms part of the Executive Committee and carries Trustee responsibilities.  The Secretary plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the Society, including:

  • Coordinating Executive Committee and Annual General Meetings
  • Overseeing governance processes, communications, and membership administration 
  • Supporting delivery of BSPED’s activities in line with its constitution
  • Act as Executive representative on the BSPED Clinical Committee 

After the first year in the elect position the role is a three-year term, with the possibility of a one-year extension. 

Secretary Job Description

In these roles you will attend quarterly Executive Committee meetings virtually and at the BSPED Annual Meeting. You will make strategic and operational decisions regarding the running of the Society and ensure the content of the AGM accurately reflects the BSPED position and activities. You will also be in regular contact via email to ensure timely decisions are made, supported by the BSPED Office. You will be the figureheads of the Society and the main points of contact for other relevant bodies.

Applicants should send their nomination form (nominated and seconded by BSPED members), CV, photo and a 200 word covering letter supporting their suitability for the position. Trustee positions will be filled via election by the membership which will take place in the Autumn.
