A research project that is learning about the characteristics of people newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in the UK, and at the same time supporting other research into type 1 diabetes.

Aim: To establish a group of people with type 1 diabetes and their siblings to investigate further the relative importance of recognised risk factors in the development and progression of the disease. Risk factors of interest will include family medical history, autoantibody status and early control of diabetes.
