The BSPED has a responsibility to provide educational and training opportunities to it's membership as well as others seeking education and training in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes. In the past this has been provided not only at its spring and autumn meetings but also at dedicated CME events and a separate nurses training module. The Society has also endorsed an annual educational day for trainees that has been held in Bromsgrove.
In the future, the Society intends to hold one annual event that will cater for all these needs and it will be linked to the annual autumn meeting of the BSPED. The 'training day' will be held on the day immediately prior to the annual scientific meeting at the same venue. Over a period of four years, the rolling programme will cover all issues relevant to paediatric endocrinology and will be mainly designed to satisfy the needs of endocrine registrars and nurses but will also prove useful for consultants needing an update from time to time.
