NICE
As you may well know, the NICE guidelines for Type 1 Diabetes
have now been published. There are seven different publications
ranging from the “Full Guideline” and “Evidence
Tables” to a “Quick Reference Guide” and “Information
to the Public”. Copies of the guideline can be seen and/or
downloaded from the NICE website at:

follow the links until you get to appropriate section.
I very much hope that, following the success of the Diabetes
UK national audit, we can build on this experience and continue
to gather information which will help both to put pressure on
local organisations to provide the facilities we need properly
to manage and care for our patients and to improve the care of
those patients in the long run. In order to maintain this momentum,
it is intended to reconvene the DUK Steering Group as a Paediatric
NCASP Diabetes Steering but this can be discussed further at the
next meeting of BSPED in Aberdeen.
