Membership
Membership
Membership is open "to those actively engaged in the clinical care of children with endocrine disorders and diabetes mellitus and to those conducting research related to those problems". Therefore, membership is open to members and non-members of the RCPCH.
Benefits of membership
  • Invitation to attend and reduced rate registration rate at BSPED Annual Meetings
  • Eligibility to apply for a travel grant to attend scientific meetings*
  • Eligibility to apply for BSPED Research and Nurse awards
  • Access to the password protected members’ section of the BSPED website where you can access the online members directory, update your details, view documents and discuss topics with other members
  • Monthly society e-newsletter updating members on a wide range of topics including meetings and jobs available
  • Updates on clinical trials, studies and research via the Clinical Trials Unit
  • The BSPED is a member of COPES and enjoys close links with other paediatric endocrine societies worldwide
  • Enjoy the opportunity to meet colleagues, gain support for your career, share research interests and exchange scientific knowledge with your peers
  • * Up to £1,000 per annum is granted for travel grants to assist members with attendance at scientific meetings and £2,000 on the years when joint ESPE/PES meetings occur.
How to Join
Applications are invited for membership of the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes. Applicants can complete the online application and payment form or download a printable version.

Applicants must be proposed and seconded by current members of the BSPED. Final confirmation of BSPED membership is upon approval of the BSPED Executive Committee which convenes quarterly.
Membership subscriptions are collected annually and payment for the first year is required upon application.
Membership types:
Consultant £100 per annum
Retired Consultant £50 per annum
Non-Consultant £70 per annum
Retired Non-Consultant £35 per annum
Scientist £50 per annum
Retired Scientist £25 per annum
Non-Consultant in Training £50 per annum
Diabetes Nurse £50 per annum
Retired Diabetes Nurse £25 per annum
