39th Meeting of the British Society
for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes
BSPED 2011 Venue
9-11 November 2011
Mary Ward House, London, UK

"When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life.” Samuel Johnson

Welcome to the capital city – a city that never sleeps. This year the 39th Annual BSPED meeting will be held in central London. We invite you to spend a few days enjoying some of the many historical and cultural attractions of the city as London gears itself to host the Olympic Games for a third time in its history..
With 22 national museums, 4 world heritage sites, 50 West end theatres, as well as many markets, nightclubs and pubs, sports venues and Royal parks there is something for everyone. The conference will be held in Mary Ward House a Grade I listed building built in 1898 situated within walking distance of Covent Garden and the West End. A little further and you could be walking along the south bank of the Thames enjoying views of the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, St Pauls Cathedral, the Millennium Bridge and the Tate Modern.
London's multicultural communities (300 languages being spoken within its boundaries) have provided the city with an unrivalled range of cuisines and there are restaurants for all tastes and budgets from the bargain food stalls in Camden Market to Michelin-starred restaurants. The BSPED Conference Dinner will reflect this with an off-site Indian Banquet complete with eastern and western music and dancing, and unlimited alcohol included in the price. We hope that your partners will also join you for this exciting social event.
Against this background, we hope to offer a world class educational meeting with a number of outstanding national and international speakers. The theme of the meeting is Translational Paediatric Endocrinology.
