The responsibility for audit studies endorsed and supported by BSPED moved to become part of the remit of the BSPED Clinical Committee in 2011. There is now a designated Audit/Peer Review Officer who works in conjunction with the Clinical Trials Co-ordinator to facilitate audit. There is funding of £5,000 per year to support BSPED endorsed projects.

Members of BSPED who wish to undertake a national audit in a topic relating to Endocrinology or Diabetes should contact the Audit/Peer Review Officer Dr Nick Shaw at nick.shaw@bch.nhs.uk who will arrange for it to be discussed and approved by the BSPED Clinical Committee. There will be an expectation that a report of a completed audit is submitted to the Clinical Committee.
