Executive Committee
The BSPED Executive Committee is responsible for the overall running of the society, its strategy and financial forecasting and inputs into all the other BSPED committees. BSPED representatives report to the Executive Committee at the annual Council meeting.

Mehul Dattani is Professor of Paediatric Endocrinology and currently Head of Paediatric Endocrinology at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH), University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and the UCL Institute of Child Health (ICH), and has an active clinical practice encompassing all areas of paediatric and adolescent Endocrinology at GOSH and UCLH. Professor Dattani has established a research group investigating the role of genetic factors implicated in hypothalamo-pituitary development and disease at ICH. His research has led to publications in a number of high impact journals including Nature Genetics, Journal of Clinical Investigation, American Journal of Human Genetics, Endocrine Reviews, Human Molecular Genetics and Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. He was the recipient of a prestigious Career Establishment Grant from the Medical Research Council (MRC) in 1999 and has received funding from the MRC, and the Wellcome Trust and other funding agencies. Additionally, he has received national and international awards for the work, including the Donald Paterson prize awarded by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the Henning Andersen prize (1999, 2010) awarded by the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology. He serves on the Editorial Board of a number of Endocrinology journals including the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism and is an Associate Editor on Hormone Research.

Dr Justin Warner (BSc MBBCh FRCPCH MD) is a Consultant in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at the University Hospital of Wales and holds an Honorary Senior Lectureship with Cardiff University. After completing a single honours degree in Biochemistry, he trained in Medicine at the University of Wales College of Medicine, Cardiff. In 2000 he was awarded an MD for his thesis on 'Body Composition, Exercise and Energy Expenditure in Survivors of Childhood Lymphoblastic Leukaemia'. He has been Secretary of the Welsh Paediatric Society and currently the elected Council member for Wales for the RCPCH. He has had a long standing interest in undergraduate education and leads the teaching programme for paediatrics in Cardiff. He is part of a clinical network in Wales for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes and currently the Clinical Lead for the National Paediatric Diabetes Audit for England and Wales.

Dr Justin Davies is a Consultant in Paediatric Endocrinology and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Southampton University Hospitals Trust, where he has worked since 2005. He graduated from the University Of Wales College Of Medicine. He trained in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes in Cardiff with attachments at Great Ormond Street Hospital London and St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, and was a Lecturer in Paediatric Endocrinology at Cardiff University. In 2004 he was awarded an MD for his thesis on the effects of chemotherapy on osteoblast function. He is a member of the Society for Endocrinology Study Interest Group for Late Effects of Cancer Treatment. At Southampton he is the lead clinician for paediatric endocrinology as well as the Clinical Effectiveness lead for Child Health. Dr Davies was the secretary of the British Paediatric and Adolescent Bone Group (2006-11) and his research interest is in bone disorders and body composition in childhood.
